College Night 2018

On Wednesday April 11, 2018, the Alleycats Soccer Club hosted over 150 Alleycats players and parents at Shaker Middle School. The night was packed with detailed information for players interested in pursuing soccer in college.

The event included a panel of eight men and women’s college soccer coaches from D1, D2, D3, and JUCO schools and was facilitated by John Ciano, Alleycats Director of Coaching and the College of St. Rose Head Men's Soccer Coach.

Topics and information included student/ player college requirements, preparing for college soccer, player/ coach/ college communications, academics, timing, difference of soccer divisions, opportunities to play and to  be evaluated by college coaches, recruiting, choosing the right program, what college coaches are looking for, scholarships, financial aid, applications, College Student/ Athlete Life and more.

The event was an excellent opportunity for Alleycats college bound soccer players to refine their checklist of important action items and to hear first hand advice from college coaches. For our younger Alleycats players it was a great introduction to the process with lots of information that will be necessary once they begin their college search.

Thank you to all of our players and parents who were able to attend, to our professional panel of college coaches, and to Coach John Ciano for this event.

The Alleycats Soccer Club looks forward to providing our Alleycats Families with other beneficial and exciting events.
